Avian Flu is not Considered a Food Borne Illness

Many times when there is an outbreak of an illness, such as bird flu, that is transmitted to humans, there are many misconceptions among the general public. It is important with Avian Flu, as well as with any other world health concerns to educate society so that people will have the correct information. For instance, many people may shy away from the consumption of chicken products or eggs because they think that they might contract the illness from eating anything that comes from a chicken. There is no evidence that supports this. It is not considered as a food borne illness.
