Sourcing for clothing has moved to countries like China, Bangladesh and Vietnam because of their reduced labour prices but this appears to have had a sting in its tail for many large labels as with the dropping cost of sterling, the exchange rate of sterling with dollars has reduced by 15%. Many fashion shop owners will have problems passing on higher prices as shoppers are potentially going to be a lot more precious with their money and may choose to save rather than spend unless insentives are their to purchase fashion items.
Enterprising organisations have started running fashion show fundraising events where you can purchase genuine branded fashion wear with up to 50% off the recommended retail cost. They are sold as slightly imperfect even though most are not seconds but over-runs or end of lines.
