POSTAL SERVICE DAYS OF CLOSURE
There are a lot of people who end up showing up at their local post office on a day when it is otherwise closed and because a number of retail locations will stay open on holidays so as to encourage sales, many government agencies and related government entities will be closed due to the day being a federal holiday. Days on which it would be otherwise impossible to buy stamps or get poly mailers from the United States Postal Service but would be a day when most retail outlets would still be open include such days as Columbus Day, Labor Day and Veterans Day.
