A question of ethics for animal consumption – Is eating meat inhumane?

As a Parramatta Personal Trainer I say the answer is yes if an animal is not raised biodyanamically and organically and as part of a biodiverse system, or permacultrue. What this means, animals that are raised on pasture as much of the year as possible, fed organic feed or natural medicines when sick, not exposed to pesticides or weedicides from the land or given antibiotics or hormones. They feed off pasture which is grown in nutrient dense soil. Non-organic or monocultured raised animals are raised in confined areas; eat from feedlots rather than pasture and heavily medicated with very short lives. Rearing animals in this way is not healthy for the animal or the human consuming the animal, as animals are also what they eat and their environment.

On Thursday nights, I get together with a bunch of people at an old fashioned tavern and we watch our favorite television show. There are about twenty of us who are there every week, but there have been as many as eighty who have shown up to watch an episode. To celebrate the show’s 100th episode, the tavern owner bought us all Custom T-Shirts which had the tavern’s name at the top, a cake with lots of candles in the middle, and the name of the show on the bottom. It was a terrific surprise. The episode was great but the t-shirt was even better.
